How to prepare growing media

Requirements of growing media for terrace / roof garden
eg  For four numbers of Grow bag of size 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 ft needs
1. Coco pith  of 5 kg
2. Grow bag
3. vermicompost
4. Red soil or garden soil

Grow bags made of High Density Poly ethilin  (HDPE)
This bags's life period is  3 to 4 years

Coco piths are available in blocks in different size
There are two types
1.Low EC which is washable  and having  salt quality.
2.High EC  which is non-washable and non-salty

Vermicoposts are for natural fertilization and
Garden soil or red soil for minerals.

Ratio of coir pith, Vermi compost and soil is :  2:2:1

Preparation of grow media{
Take 5 kg of coir pith and soak it in required  water.
Then wash the coir pith
Fill the washed coir pith  to the  half size of  HDPE(grow bag) bag
Prepare the mix of coir pith , vermicompost and soil in the above said ratio 2:2:1
After mixing add the above said mix to the grow bag.

Keep the prepared coco pith for 24 hrs
Plant the desired plants/flower/herb... after 24 hrs
For best results add one handful of vermicompost at the stem portion of plants every week
Occasionally add natural fertilizers like fish amino acid for best resuls

Note: The grow bags are available in different sizes . Similar to grow bags garden containers are
available in the market. The ratio of coco pith , vermicompost and soil are more or less same irrespective of container make and type
